The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Wednesday has started removing giant advertisements that may pose a threat to motorists and commuters.
MMDA teams initially targeted billboards along Epifanio delos Santos Avenue, Roxas Boulevard and C-5 road, radio dzBB reported.
In Quezon City, MMDA teams removed at least three billboards but could not go further because the owners of the lots where the billboards were located had secured their lots.
The MMDA earlier said it would remove giant billboards, especially those that could pose a threat to commuters and motorists when an earthquake hits the country.
Safety concerns about the billboards were raised after a magnitude-9 quake and tsunami devastated Japan on March 11 this year. - VVP, GMA News
